SC - Half Double Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch
EA - Each

Materials
Size I/5.5 mm crochet hook - You can use different size hooks and yarn
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle

Round 1
Segment 1: Chain 6.
Slip Stitch in each of the next 2 chains.

Segment 2: Chain 6, Slip Stitch in each of the next 3 chains.

Segment 3: Chain 7, Slip Stitch in each of the next 4 chains.

Segment 4: Chain 6,
Slip Stitch in each of the next 3 chains. Slip stitch at the base

Segment 5 and 6:
Chain 4, Slip Stitch in each of the next 3 chains. Slip stitch at the base.

This part will be working down the opposite side of the leaf.

Segment 3: Slip Stitch in each of the next 2 chains. Chain 5, Slip Stitch in each of the next 4 chains.

Segment 2: Slip Stitch in each of the next 2 chains. Chain 4, Slip Stitch in each of the next 3 chains.

Segment 1: Slip Stitch in each of the next 2 chains. Chain 3 Slip Stitch in each of the next 2 chains.

Round 2
Segment 1: Work 1 SC in the next chain. Work 3 SC in the next CH, Work 1 SC in the last CH. SL ST at the base, SL ST in each of the next 2 chains.

Segment 2: Work 1 HDC in each of the next 2 chains. Work 3 HDC in the next CH. Work 1 HDC in each of the next 2 Chains.
SL ST in each of the next 2 chains.

Segment 3: 1 HDC in each of the next 3 chains. 3 HDC in the next chain. 1 HDC in each of the next 3 chains.
SL ST in each of the next 2 chains.

Segment 4,5,6: 1 SC in each of the next 2 chains, 3 SC in the next chain, 1 SC in ea of the next 2 chains, SL ST in the base.

This part will be working down the opposite side of the leaf.

Ch 12.

Row 1: 1 SC in ea CH across. (11 Single Crochet)

Row 2-12: CH 1, 1 SC in ea SC across (11 Single Crochet)

Rounded Segments: Work all the stitches halfway down the first side. Refer to symbol diagram. It will be either the 6th single crochet or between rows 6 and 7. *Quadruple crochet CH 1, 9 times total from * all in the same space, do 1 more Quadruple Crochet. (10 Quadruple Crochet Total) SL ST in the corner. Repeat for the next rounded segment *Quadruple crochet CH 1, 9 times total from * all in the same space, do 1 more Quadruple Crochet. (10 Quadruple Crochet Total)

Edging 1: Do a reverse single crochet evenly around in each space and stitch. Join.

Edging 2: CH 3, SC, CH 3 SC evenly around, join.

Chain 6


Row 1: in the next CH from the hook work 1 SC in ea CH across. (5 single crochet total)


Row 2-5: CH 1, turn, 1 SC in ea ST across. (5 single crochet total)

Leaving your yarn connected, you will work the 2 curved sections of the heart.
Edge Shape: CH1, work the next stitches at the center of the square (See Diagram) 1DC, CH1 (6 times) in the same space, CH 1, SL ST in the corner stitch, CH 1, 1DC, CH1 (6 times) in the center of the square in the same space. CH 1 Slip Stitching corner stitch.

The green heart shows the reverse single crochet edging. The pink heart shows a picot edging.

Leaves: *CH 8, SL ST in ea of the next to Ch's. HDC in next CH, DC in ea of the next 3 Ch's, HDC in the next CH. Repeat from * for a total of 5 times for this project. Leaves can be made in one piece. You can make individual leaves, two leaves and change the amount how ever you want to. Sew to the center top of the pumpkin. Secure with knot when finished.

Round 2: CH 1, 2 SC in loop, SK over the next 2 SC. *In the next CH 2 loop do, 2 SC CH 2, 2 SC, SK over the next 2 SC(this is the decrease). repeat from * 4 times. 2 SC in the beginning CH 2 SP. CH 1, HDC in BEG SC. This will end in the center point of the star.

Round 3: CH 1, 2 SC in the same loop, 1 SC in the next st, SK the next 2 SC(this is the center decrease), SC in the next SC, *2 SC, CH 2, 2 SC in the next CH 2 loop. 1 SC in the next st, SK the next 2 SC(this is the center decrease), repeat from * 4 times. 1 SC in the next SC, 2 SC in the beg loop. CH 1, HDC in BEG SC to join.

Round 4: CH 1, 2 SC in the same loop, 1 SC in ea of the next 2 st, SK the next 2 SC(this is the center decrease), 1 SC in ea of the next 2 SC, *2 SC, CH 2, 2 SC in the next CH 2 loop. 1 SC in ea of the next 2 st, SK the next 2 SC(this is the center decrease), repeat from * 4 times. 1 SC in ea of the next 2 SC, 2 SC in the beg loop. CH 2, SL ST to join.
